Hi, I’m Val — the trainer behind Diggin It Dog.

For the last 10 years, I’ve helped families raise puppies, settle in with newly adopted dogs, and build better manners and communication at home. My background includes competition experience in Rally, Obedience, and scent work, but what I love most is helping everyday dog owners feel confident, supported, and successful.

My training approach is centered on clarity, kindness, and achieving real-world results. I use reward-based methods that help dogs understand what we want, while strengthening the bond between dog and handler. Whether your dog is overly excited, unsure, easily distracted, or brand-new to training, I’ll guide you through the process step by step.

I believe every dog can learn to be a relaxed, well-mannered companion, and every owner deserves training that feels doable and encouraging. I’m here to help you and your dog thrive together.

My training is backed by real achievements: multiple titles, top placements, and consistent results in competitive dog sports. I  bring that depth of experience directly to my clients, helping teams refine their skills, strengthen communication, and prepare for success—whether that’s in everyday life or stepping confidently into the ring. My own dogs have earned titles and placements, and I genuinely love helping others reach that level.
